Star Wars Lands Announced for Orlando and Anaheim

Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger made the announcement a large portion of D23 attendees were expecting at day two of the Disney fan club convention with confirmation that both, Orlando’s Walt Disney World and Anaheim’s Disneyland, will get Star Wars themed additions as part of the biggest park expansion in the company’s history.

“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars. Through each new attraction and new land we create, we push the boundaries of what is possible. And as you can imagine, with Star Wars, we are taking that to a whole new level, with a whole galaxy to explore.”

Both parks will see 14 acres dedicated to what will be the largest single-themed sections ever with two signature attractions including an opportunity to take the helm of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission.
